ON THE EVALUATION OF THE JACOBIAN ELLIPTIC AND RELATED FUNCTIONS,

Abstract

Methods for evaluation are examined of the basic Jacobian elliptic functions, in terms of which 9 others can easily be expressed. Some attention is devoted to Jacobi's zeta function, Jacobi's nome q, and to K(m), the complete elliptic integral of the first kind. Several computation methods are indicated in each case, not only for comparison purposes, but also in order that the reader may examine these processes with his own machine in mind. (Author)
