PRINTED CIRCUIT CONNECTORS FOR MICROASSEMBLIES.

Abstract

Design effort was concentrated on three different contact approaches, A-2-3, A-5-4 and A-11. These approaches were tested as per insertion and withdrawal, contact life and contact resistance. From these tests approach A-11-1 was selected ad the final contact design. Three connector design approaches, B-3, B-6 and B-7, were further studied, tested and analyzed. These approaches were pursued based on a header design compatible with electron beam welding in the microassembly stack. From these studies approach B-7 was selected as the final contact design.
