TECHNICAL EVALUATION OF TEST ANTENNA CABLE PICKUP OF RADIATED ENERGY.

Abstract

Tests were conducted to evaluate antenna coaxial cable pickup of radiated energy in the 1 to 10 kmc range. Cable types RG-8A/U and RG-9B/U were tested to determine their susceptibility to pickup of radiated microwave energy. It was concluded that RG-9B/U is virtually unaffected when properly terminated. RG-8A/U is extremely susceptible to pickup of microwave energy.
