HANDBOOK OF PHOTONUCLEAR REACTIONS

Abstract

A compilation was made of the data which would be most useful in calculating the activities produced in food by high energy electrons or gamma rays. The known isotopes of each element are listed with their atomic masses, half lives, and methods of decay. Photoneutron and photoproton cross sections are shown and both theoretical and experimental threshold values are listed. References are included for all data. The appendixes include a short description of the bremsstrahlung cross sections and a list of the common radioactive isotopes found in food irradiated by high energy electrons.
