A METHOD OF STABILIZING AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEMS OF VARIABLE STRUCTURE WITHOUT USING THE DERIVATIVES OF THE ERROR SIGNALS,

Abstract

Using an automatic control system of second order with variable structure as an example, an attempt is made to illustrate the possibility of consturcting high-quality dynamic systems without introducing an input with respect to the first derivative in the control law. An automatic control system is considered variable structure described by the equations of oscillatory motion and an unstable aperiodic motion. The error signal is transformed by a linear filter with the transfer function; and the control function is introduced. The motion of the system (free oscillations) for different initial conditions is investigated and the effect of the time constant of the filter on the transient quality is studied. The control law is derieved. (Author)
