Coherent Light and Radio Optics.
Abstract
Thework described represents a number of advances in understanding of the physics of solid state optical masers. There is much still to be learned of the detailed mechanisms important in the response of matter to high intensity optical fields. Of the various aspects of coherent light generation, it was decided that the most useful contribution which this laboratory can make to the field is the development of infrared sources and spectroscopic and relaxation time measurements in solids and gases with resonances, in the submillimeter region.
