FLIGHT DATA SYSTEM SPECIAL MODE STUDIES.

Abstract

This report consists of study reports on the Special Mode Operation of the Flight Data System. The analysis of the geometric relationships of the inertial platform gimbal system includes a set of transformations between gimbal angles, vehicle body rates, and vehicle attitude angles to provide a basis for gimbal output error analysis. The steady state response characteristics of the outer roll gimbal, while operating under special mode conditions, is studied in the LN-4 Platform Outer Roll Gimbal Response Analysis. A replacement for the normal signal adaptor in vehicles or for missions requiring special mode operation is described in an analysis of the Mechanization of LN-4 Special Mode Controller. (Author)
