ALLOYING BEHAVIOR OF THE REFRACTORY PLATINUMGROUP METALS.

Abstract

It was previously postulated that the c/a ratio behavior of the hcp alloys that occur in the average group number interval 7-8.5 should provide a clue to the raison d'etre of the structure and also to the mechanical properties exhibited by the hcp alloys. Accordingly, a program of lattice-parameter determination of hcp alloys was initiated. The results obtained to date are summarized in the ruthenium-based systems: RuMo, Ru-W, and Ru-Ta. (Author)
