STUDY OF MICROCIRCUITRY TECHNIQUES UTILIZING MOLECULAR ENGINEERING.

Abstract

The object of this program extension is the design and construction of 16 pulse amplifiers which are to be packaged at a density of 16 amplifiers per linear inch. This report includes discussions of design considerations of the semiconductor devices, fabrication techniques, test evaluations, packaging alternatives, and their corresponding thermal analyses. The amplifier can be constructed with either a high-power linear load resistor or a non-linear field effect resistor. A considerable reduction in power dissipation is achieved by using the field effect resistor. Operation of the circuit using the field effect resistor is thoroughly discussed. (Author)
