BIOGRAPHICAL INDICATORS OF ADAPTATION TO NAVAL SERVICE,

Abstract

Biographical and test information were related to four criteria of adaptation to the naval service. The criteria were: disciplinary offense record, military proficiency rating, military conduct rating, and medical record. Biographic items reflecting persistent difficulties in school adjustment, lax of erratic discipline by father, discipline by a person other than father, and lack of family cohensiveness or stability were significantly related to one or more of the adjustment criteria. The results indicated the potential usefulness of biographical data in assessment of military adaptability. (Author)
