Abstract

The whistle-hydromagnetic extension of magnetoionic theory is studied in detail, and includes derivations of exact and approximate expressions for the phase refractive index; computation of numerical values, considering protons; plots of standard curves as well as refractive index surfaces; and plots of error curves for the approximations.
