BASIC STUDIES ON THERMOELECTRIC MATERIALS.

Abstract

Bi2Te3 is one of the most important thermoelectric materials, However, its band structure is only imperfectly understood. A summary is given of work in progress on the measurement of the magnetoresistance of n-type Bi2Te3. This work is expected to shed light on the importance of the anisotropy in the electron scattering in previous measurements of the band structure by magnetoresistance measurements and to provide information on the existence of a second conduction band.
