FUEL-OPTIMAL SINGULAR CONTROL OF A NONLINEAR SECOND ORDER SYSTEM,

Abstract

Studies were made on the problem of fuel-optimal control of nonlinear second order systems; one of the objectives was to determine to what extent the techniques can be extended and whether there are properties of the optimal control for nonlinear systems which differ from the corresponding ones for linear systems. As demonstrated, the nonlinear optimal system considered has singular solutions which did not arise in the case of linear systems. (Author)
