THIN FILM IMAGE CONVERTER.

Abstract

The operating parameters of a four layer solid state thin film image converter are derived. The theoretical performance in response to radiation from the night sky when the output is viewed directly is compared to that anticipated from an S-1, P-20 image converter operating under the same conditions. A literature survey of the optical absorption and luminescence of GaAs is presented. The method of preparing GaAs luminescent diodes is discussed, and their electrical and optical properties are detailed. (Author)
