TACTICAL AIR WARFARE FORCE ALLOCATION VOLUME 1. PROGRAM SUMMARY,

Abstract

The primary emphasis of the current research program is directed toward the formulation of a detailed data base, and the structuring of existing and newly-developed analytical models of an Air Component Commander's daily force allocation planning function. The information organization and models are applicable to the assignment of air resources among the tactical air missions of air superiority, interdiction, direct air support and reconnaissance. The results derived within this program are to be utilized within the System Design Laboratory's experimental program. The objectives of the experiments are to derive evaluative data concerning the relevance of information, and methods of processing, and presenting relevant information to the Air Force Commander and his staff. This volume presents a description and analysis of the current operations force allocation decision, and a technical summary of the data base and the compendium of force allocation planning models.
