DEVELOPMENT OF IMPROVED RESIN SYSTEMS FOR FILAMENT-WOUND STRUCTURES.

Abstract

This report contains the statistical analysis of data from tests for dynamic shear modulus, Poisson's ratio, and Izod impact strength (re-analysis) performed on systems cured with m-phenylenediamine. Also reported is the statistical analysis of data obtained on the systems cured with 4,4'-methylenedianiline in tests for the following properties: tensile strength, elongation, and modulus; Barcol hardness; Izod impact strength; density; heat-distortion temperature; and tensile tear strength. Mechanical tests were performed on systems cured with ethylenediamine and hexahydrophthalic anhydride. Preparation of castings required for this program was completed. Testing of 240 specimens is now in progress. (Author)
