SENSITIZED FLUORESCENCE.

Abstract

A brief review of some of the work done on sensitized fluorescence prior to 1960 is given in the introduction, along with a statement of the objectives of this project. Progress in the experimental phases of fluorescence cell production is described. A discussion of Einstein coefficients is given showing that these coefficients cannot be treated as constants independent of pressure and temperature in cases where the absorber is irradiated with sharp spectral line radiation. The direction of both experimental and theoretical work for the next quarter is outlined. (Author)
