REDUCTION AND CONSOLIDATION OF SUPERIOR QUALITY MOLYBDENUM ALLOYS.

Abstract

Various efforts to produce superior quality molybdenum have been conducted, which include bomb reduction, electron beam melting, and powder metallurgy techniques. Fabrication and evaluation of sintered, electron beam melted and arc melted molybdenum, both calcium-reduced and hydrogen-reduced, have been investigated. Single crystals were fabricated and evaluated and grain refinement additions were investigated. (Author)
