AN ELECTRONICALLY TUNNED MICROWAVE GENERATOR.

Abstract

This is the final report on a program aimed at determining the feasibility for an electronically tuned, high power microwave generator for Kaband. The main approach adopted was to use a crossed-field amplifier with an external feedback path incorporating and electronically controlled ferrite phase shifter. Studies were made first at x-band for convenience with later efforts concentrated on scaling these results to the desired frequency range. A review of the whole program is given describing accomplishments that were obtained both at X-band and Ka-band. Recommendations for the direction of future efforts are presented. (Author)
