ON THE TOPOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF SOME ORDERED FAMILIES OF DISTRIBUTIONS,

Abstract

The consequences are investigated of the order relation on the structure of the family distribution. Among other, it is shown that a nondegenerate family of distributions (i.e. a family containing at most a countable number of isolated degenerate distribution) is dominated, if it is ordered (2). An easy consequence is that the parameter space of a nondegenerate ordered (2) family is a subset of the real line. (Author)
