STUDY OF CORRELATION PROPERTIES OF BINARY SEQUENCES.

Abstract

Properties of the correlation properties of the linear sequences are discussed and a new and promising approach to the problem of correlation of linear sequences is developed. Families of linear sequences of equal period are generated from a single shift register. The class of sequences with bounded cross correlation is determined as well as the bounds on the cross correlation function of certain maximal sequences and hence on the corresponding family of sequences. The appendix presents a discussion of elementary properties of binary sequences, elementary algebraic properties of sequences, and error correcting codes. (Author)
