RADIANT EMISSION FROM HIGH TEMPERATURE EQUILIBRIUM AIR

Abstract

The spectral distribution of the energy radiated by equilibrium air in the temperature range from 3000 to 9000 K has been computed for density ratios of 10 to the minus 4 power, 10 to the minus 5 power, and 10 to the minus 6 power. The results are an extension of the work of Breene and Nardone to the lower density ratios, and cover the wave number range from 1250 to 56,000 per cm.
