AN APPROXIMATE METHOD FOR THE CALCULATION OF SCALAR SCATTERING BY TWO-DIMENSION BODIES

Abstract

A method for approximating the solution of twodimensional scalar scattering problems has been developed and tested. Results indicate that the technique, which involves the expansion of the field in terms of cylindrical wave functions, gives good results when wave length and body size are comparable.
