ANALYSIS OF MINUTEMAN EXHAUST PRODUCTS

Abstract

Analytical methods based primarily on infrared spectroscopy, gas- solid partition chromatography, and mass spectroscopy were developed for the compositional determination of trapped rocket exhaust gases; the validity of the methods was established by analysis of synthetic mixtures of typical exhaust gases. Analytical methods have also been devised for the compositional analysis of trapped solid exhaust products; these methods have been checked by analysis of synthetic mixtures. A technique for trapping the exhaust products in the vicinity of the exit plane was developed.
