EVALUATION TESTS OF VOLUMETRIC LIQUID LEVEL INDICATING SYSTEM MANUFACTURED BY BARTON INSTRUMENT CORPORATION.

Abstract

A liquid level indicating system composed of a Barton differential indicator connected by capillary tubing to two liquid filled remote pressure sensing bellows was tested to ascertain the effect of various environmental parameters common to shipboard applications on the performance of the system. The results obtained were within acceptable limits for all parameters except ambient temperature. The susceptibility of the system to ambient temperature variations limits its use to constant temperature applications. (Author)
