SELECTIVE RETRIEVAL FROM A VARIABLE LENGTH INFORMATION FILE.

Abstract

This final report describes in detail the modification to the ICS Variable Length Information Processing Program to include the option of logical file item selectivity. Selective retrieval adds another dimension to the already powerful information processing program. The ICS engineering design of the selection procedure is based on the postulates of Boolean algebra. This represents a unique and useful approach to the manner of specifying criteria for selectivity. (Author)
