RAND CORPORATION PUBLICATIONS RELEVANT TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT-A SELECTIVE BIBLIOGRAPHY,

Abstract

This is a bibliography of publications of The RAND Corporation that have relevance for the many problems of economic development. The words economic development are used as a shorthand term toindicate not only those problems that are primarily economic in character but also those that are political, sociological, or technical in nature. This usage is in keeping with common practice in the literature. The bibliography includes items drawn from each of these areas. The topic headed Systems Analysis is listed first because a systems analysis provides the general framework for the analysis of the objectives to be met, the determination of alternative programs to meet the objectives, and the criteria to be used in selecting the preferred program. The eight major topic headings cover a wide range of subjects and illustrate both the richness and complexity of the problems of development and the coverage of them in RAND Corporation publications.
