LOGIC OF SYSTEMS INTRODUCTION TO THE FORMAL THEORY OF STRUCTURE.
Abstract
Structure and purpose are two key aspects in the analysis and synthesis of complex systems. A full-fledged science of behavior must be based on a well-articulated fromal theory of structure and purpose. This first paper introduces some of the basic notions in the formal theory of structure. Later papers will extend the theory of structure, introduce the formal theory of purpose, and investigate the relation between structure and purpose. (Author)
