RESEARCH DIRECTED TOWARD THE INVESTIGATION OF SUITABILITY OF THE GLOTRAC TYPE G TRANSPONDER FOR USE IN THE RANGE CALIBRATION SATELLITE. PART A.

Abstract

The results are presented of a study program directed toward determining what modifications in the GLOTRAC Type G Transponder are required to make the transponder suitable for operation in the Range Calibration Satellite (RCS). Modifications are recommended in the transponder components and the transponder case in order to meet the more stringent RCS requirements, such as extended operational life, high vacuum, space radiation and an extended temperature range.
