STUDIES ON THE EVOLUTION OF NERVOUS CONTROL.

Abstract

The Nauta-Gygax technique for the demonstration of degenerating axons was applied to a study of projections of the parietal association cortex of the cat. Projections of theses areas and interrelations between them are described and the possible significance of such findings are discussed. The organization of the reticular formation of birds and its afferent connections from the spinal cord and cerebellum are reported. A stereotactic atlas of the pigeon brain was prepared. A semiautomatic technique for charting of brain sections was developed. (Author)
