AN INVESTIGATION OF INTERDIFFUSION IN METALLIC SINGLE CRYSTALS.

Abstract

This research effort has been concerned with the following: (1) seeking out and correcting the cause of the anomalous behavior of the gold single crystals in the dilatometer; (2) growth of crystals for the diffusion studies, and construction of apparatus for cutting and polishing these crystals; and (3) construction and testing of apparatus for the preparation of thin films from the diffusion couples.
