HASP, INSTRUMENTED, RELEASE TO PROTOTYPE PRODUCTION FOR EVALUATION OF THE HEADS, 1.625INCH, ROCKET, MK 1 MOD 0 AND MK 2 MOD 0,

Abstract

This report contains, with the exception of drawings and specifications, the supporting technical documentation which substantiated the release to prototype production of the instrumented High Altitude Sounding Projectile (HASP) for determining atmospheric temperature and wind velocity up to 150,000-ft altitude. The Mk 32 Mod O rocket motor, developed by the Bureau of Naval Weapons (RMMP), was the propulsion unit. Launching was from the 5-inch 38 gun or the LOKI tube launcher. (Author)
