INVESTIGATION OF NARROW LINE PARAMAGNETIC RESONANCE ABSORPTION SPECTRUM IN SINGLE CRYSTAL CALCITE,

Abstract

Results of a program of study on the narrow line paramagnetic resonance absorptions in single crystals of calcite are presented. These include an analysis carried out on the spectrum of the trivalent iron isotopes, Fe54, Fe56, and Fe57 in calcite and the spectral shifts associated with these isotopes, an analysis of the spectrum of the molecular ion CO2 and finally the superhyperfine structure in the divalent manganese ion spectrum due to the magnetic interaction of the C13 isotope with the manganese ion.
