PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF APPRENTICE AIR PASSENGER SPECIALISTS,

Abstract

This evaluation was conducted to determine the ability of apprentice air passenger specialists graduated from ATC Course No. ABR60530 to perform the duties of their specialty. A 12-week job performance evaluation was conducted using seven apprentices assigned to operating units at Hunter and Charleston Air Force Bases. Apprentices graduated from this course are prepared to meet the requirements of the Job Training Standard and most of the job requirements. To more adequately meet the job requirements, it is desirable that the Job Training Standard be revised as follows: include course and on-the-job training requirements for the various tasks associated with fleet servicing activities, and reduce the course requirement for proving instruction on the dissemination of information on baggage limitations and for providing a working knowledge of the types and configurations of transport aircraft, weight and balance factors, load adjuster and Chart E, and load planning.
