CONSIDERATIONS OF THE VULNERABILITY OF ELECTRICALLY INITIATED EXPLOSIVE SYSTEMS,

Abstract

The paper discusses means of controlling, through operation procedures and design, accidental functioning of an explosive system. It describes mechanical activation as well as electrical (hot-wire, film-bridge, explodingbridgewire) systems, comparing them in terms of invulnerability. An exploding-bridgewire initiator was found to be the least vulnerable electric initiator. (Author)
