BASIC STUDIES IN PERCUTANEOUS ABSORPTION

Abstract

Apparatus and techniques have been developed to measure vapor diffusion of chemicals through separated epidermis. The penetration of alcohols and amines has been investigated by this method. Another new technique developed for investigating the penetration of simple agents through skin is that of electrodialysis, which has permitted the study of ionic species which do not normally penetrate skin. A new technique for use in gas chromatographic analysis of fatty acids has also been developed.
