THE FINE STRUCTURE OF THE 2P TERMS OF THE LITHIUM ISOELECTRONIC SEQUENCE,

Abstract

Ab initio calculations of the fine structure separation of the 1S2np2p, n- 2, 3 and 4, states of the three electron systems are made using wave functions of the open shell type. Satisfactory agreement with experiment is obtained only in the case of the highly ionized systems. (Author)
