TRANSIENT TESTS OF THE YLR 87-AJ-5 ROCKET ENGINE TURBOPUMP WITH THE REDESIGNED FUEL PUMP AND ASSOCIATED PROPULSION EQUIPMENT,

Abstract

Two tests were conducted with suction pulsing and one test was conducted with discharge pulsing. The redesigned pump exhibited a significant advantage over the production pump for the parameters which are pertinent to the analysis and re duction of the Titan II longitudinal oscillation. Use of the redesigned fuel pump on the overall system stability must be analyzed in conjunction with the oxidizer system configuration. (Author)
