RESEARCH ON NEW CONCEPTS IN ENERGY CONVERSION.

Abstract

Two forms of closed-cycle magnetohydrodynamic power-generation systems and thermionic energy converters are being investigated. Current research topics for the present year are: (1) magnetohydrodynamic power generation with liquid metals, (2) liquid-metal magnetohydrodynamic generators, (3) alkali-metal magnetohydrodynamic generators, and (4) thermionic energy conversion.
