A STUDY OF WAVE PERSISTENCE FOR SELECTED LOCATIONS IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN, NORTH SEA, AND BALTIC SEA,

Abstract

Wave persistence graphs were constructed from wave data obtained from lightships and ocean station vessels. An explanation and examples of how to interpret the wave persistence graphics are given. A climatological summary for the selected regions is supplied as a background for arriving at certain generalizations concerning wave persistence. Several applications of wave persistence data are cited. (Author)
