PARAMETRIC STUDY OF SMALL HIGH SPEED ARMING VANES,

Abstract

Theoretical and experimental studies have been conducted to determine the vane parameters which affect performance of small arming vanes and to evaluate quantitatively the parametric relationships to performance. The parameters are: (1) the blade angle with respect to the plane of rotation; (2) the ratio of the hub diameter to outer diameter; and (3) the number of blades for a given vane. The parametric relationships to vane performance are rather straightforward and are presented in detail in the text. (Author)
