RECENT ADVANCES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MAGNETIC SUSPENSION AND BALANCE SYSTEM FOR WIND TUNNELS.

Abstract

A magnetic model suspension system is described, including an initial calibration procedure and a procedure for controlling the roll degree of freedom of the model. Particular attention is given to the discussion of low density, high temperature limits of the system. A discussion of schlieren optical systems is also presented. (Author)
