RESEARCH ON THE SOLAR-GEOPHYSICAL ASPECTS OF COSMIC RADIATION AND MAGNETO-HYDRODYNAMICS.

Abstract

Some 60 papers were published during the sevenyear period covered by this final report. Most of these papers resulted from the work of the two academic staff members supported part time on this contract, E. N. Parker and J. A. Simpson. These papers covered both theoretical and experimental researches concerned with the properties of the interplanetary medium including magnetic fields and plasma density, the solar production of high energy particles and their propagation through the interplanetary medium, and selected topics on the properties of the geomagnetic field (geomagnetic storms, particle motions in the geomagnetic field, etc.). Included in this report is a list of publications, as well as abstracts of their contents. Also attached is a listing of the scientific and engineering staff who contributed to the work. (Author)
