MULTI-STATION PUSH BUTTON SWITCH.

Abstract

This report covers preliminary vibration and shock testing on the three and eleven station prototypes. The vibration testing showed up a minor problem caused by the latchbar flexing. Preliminary shock testing indicates the three station switch will not unlatch under shocks in excess of a calculated 127 G's. The shock value when unlatching will occur is expected to be around 200 G's. This is not considered good enough to meet and pass the high impact shock test. Previous testing on an eleven station switch indicates similar characteristics to the three station unit. The switch as presently designed works well in all other respects and should be capable of passing a 50 G medium impact shock requirement. (Author)
