ON A CLASS OF TESTING PROCEDURES IN LINEAR MODELS,

Abstract

Independent samples from the populations with continuous cumulative distribution functions are given. For testing the null hypothesis, a class of test statistics based on the ranks of the observations are proposed and their limiting distributions are derived. These results are used to obtain the asymptotic relative efficiencies (in the Pitman sense) with respect to one another and to the normal theory competitor. (Author)
