SOME ASPECTS OF SAWING ACCURACY IN CIRCULAR MILLS,

Abstract

A study to examine the capabilities of a wellmaintained circular sawmill in sizing 2- by 4-in. studs sawn from small loblolly pine logs was conducted at the U.S. Forest Products Laboratory. The additional aspect of the effect of compression wood both in the log and in the stud on sawing variation was also studied. (Author)
