TRACKING, TELEMETRY, AND COMMAND STUDIES OF GROUND AND SATELLITE SUBSYSTEMS. VOLUME 4: AIRBORNE TRANSPONDER CONFIGURATION STUDY

Abstract

System requirements which reflect upon the design of CW satellite transponders are discussed. The Mariner protoype transponder and the Goddard range and range rate transponder are taken as currently operational examples of the state of the aret. These two transponders are described in detain, and their primary advantages and disadvantages are noted.
