ON SET FUNCTIONALS THAT PRESERVE A GIVEN GEOMETRY CLASS,

Abstract

A geometry class is defined as the collection o, all geometric objects of a given order with a given law of transformation. A basic functional equation is obtained for an element a which is both necessary and sufficient for it to be an element of the same geometry class as the given element. After establishing a general representation theorem for elements of an arbitrary linear homogeneous geometry class, explicit solutions of the basic functional equation are obtained for elements of this class.
