DEVELOPMENTS IN THERMAL-STRUCTURAL COMPOSITES AT GENERAL DYNAMICS/FORTH WORTH,

Abstract

The developmental efforts in the field of thermal-structural composites are summarized. These efforts are concerned, generally, with the application of composite systems as structural components, cooling systems, and environmental control systems. Specifically, investigations are in the areas of attachments for ablation systems, oxidation resistant coatings for refractory metals, foamed ceramic composites, plasma-arc sprayed coatings, and inorganicorganic material system development.
