AN ANALYSIS OF AN APPROXIMATE SEQUENTIAL PROCEDURE FOR INTERVAL ESTIMATION,

Abstract

This report presents an approximate sequential method of interval estimation suitable for hypothesis testing in current research in artificial intelligence, a study of its properties, and a method of choosing parameter values to maximize its effectiveness. Relationships were found between the parameters of the procedure and its significant properties, including the probabilities of the two types of error and the expected number of samples required by the process. Several sets of parameters were chosen. (Author)
